Dear Neighbors,
I was elected to represent neighborhoods in Middle DeKalb County in the State House in 1998 and have enjoyed my public service. The federal court has drawn a new legislative district that includes my neighborhood and new neighborhoods that I have not yet represented. I look forward to learning more about the new district and campainging in your neighborhood.
Since I was elected, I've gotten married, had a beautiful baby boy, and worked hard to rise in the Democratic House leadership. I have passed bills to
- Reduce property taxes for DeKalb County homeowners.
- Helped start traffic calming programs in our neighborhoods.
- Cracked down on domestic violence.
- Funded new construction in our public schools.
- Authored bills to clean up our streams.
- Created tax incentives to improve our business districts.
